LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black Review

Ordered during one of Amazons “limited time” sales at a great price 9 free shipping. I had been watching the 32″ LCD TV’s for specials, they had a similar offer for the Samsung but after reading reviews I was convinced the Samsung shortcomings and it was dropped off the short list. As I own another Samsung and have never had any problems, I was dismayed to read all the bad press. Fortunately I also own another LG LCD TV that I am very happy with, so I was familiar with the general operation. First, the LG was delivered on time and inspection of the box revealed good condition. Installed the stand in minutes and although not needed, was pleased with the swivel operation, additionally the TV is much lighter than the same size Sharp it was replacing, making it a good candidate for ceiling or wall mount. After power up, I inspected and found zero dead pixels. After syncing the LG with the Cable box remote, I began the initial set up, which is an easy process to follow on screen. The LG remote is fairly basic and not as nice as our other LG Remote but really is a moot point since we use the Cable box remote 99% of the time. All the HD chanels colors were crisp, clear and brilliant, non-HD channels were acceptable. Blacks are close to perfect for me and much better than the Sharp. I did not experience the sound syncing problem that other reviewers noted. The level and range of adjustments available is great for those that like to tweak. I tried some adjustments which made the display near perfect even for my old eyes. Sound amplification is far superior to the Sharp and allows for adjustments to match to our room. Since we have seperate surround system the volume limitations some reviewers spoke of, were not as important to us. Response time seems much faster than the Sharp. Since this TV is viewed almost straight on, there is no issue with fading when viewing from a side angle. Personal reasons for this purchase (or justification to satisfy my wife) size 32″ is the largest we can fit in the cabinet, (that is staying); 1080P; multiple adjustment parameters; volume amplification; Price$$ (lowest I found); Free shipping; good looking cabinet; multiple HDMI connections; used Amazon credit card which spreads payments over 6 months. I couldnt ask for much more and would highly recommend this product and Amazon.

Sound Sync – Granny Jane – Utah
Love the TV, great picture, fabulous deal on Amazon. However, can anyone tell me why TV sound is not in sync with external speakers and TV 2 in another room? I am using a Dish HDTV receiver, cannot get sound to synchronize with LG32LH30. Any help will be greatly appreciated, really want to keep this TV.

WOW! – Czar16M.D. – L.A. California
Great T.V.! The deal at amazon with this great product! WOW! I’ve had this t.v. for about a month now and all i can say is that for a t.v. worth under 0, damn great deal. a month before that, i bought a 52inch Sony xbr, it was pricey but compared to lg 32lh30, not much of a noticeable difference in picture quality except for a few lags and slight smoothness. I mean unless your a videofile, youd really notice it, but if you’ve just gotten home from a hard days work and want to unwind by watching a blue ray film or an HD tv program, hell, you will be satisfied! I love the invisible speakers and the sound quality is great! design wise, it’s plain although the LED power display gives it a bit of a distinction and a hint of elegance. It lacks, the internet connections, net flicks, additional software, etc that the xbr has but hell, that’s what a computer is for. I did hook up my laptop via hdmi cable to this T.V. and the movie quality as well as streaming was just as good. So overall, for the price amazon is offering (LG site has it at 9.99) it’s a hell of a deal! you cant go wrong with this purchase, specially with the free delivery tops it all off! Go buy it at Amazon! they’ve been great so far!

My very old CRT’s do just as well – P. Boynton – US
While I can appreciate the ok picture, and I certainly appreciate the lightness of the weight of this 32″ LG LCD, the 25″ years-old CRT tv it replaced (from Ames, back when it was in business), has a better picture, and certainly did not have blur when things moved.
The LG was easy to set up, and programmed itself to work with the dish receiver just fine.
However, the first thing I noticed was that there was a blurring, of a bunch of small square shaped things, around anything that moves. That includes someone just moving their head. while they talk.
This is a “small” matter to a couple of other people who came over when I called them – apparently, this is a fairly small and “normal” thing for digital tvs. I did not see why I have to “get used to it.” as they say I will do, as they think this is just a fairly small matter on the screen, compared to some they have seen.
I am still working on this, but no matter the setting, this persists.
Compared to the just-as-excellent picture my Chachong old crt tv has , which does not do this, I can’t really find any reason to change to an LCD unless you have to.
I have ended up putting this in my sewing room, and keeping the 25″ CRT where I watch more.

LG 55LH40 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Gloss Black Review

We were looking to get a large LCD TV in the end of 2008, and therefore focusing on 52 inch TVs. The prices seemed to be unstable, and since we missed a really good deal, we kept waiting for it to happen again, especially after Christmas that year. The prices went up instead.

So around Christmas 2009, we started again, but this time 55 inch LCD TVs were the big thing, and after looking at several, this LG seemed to have the best combination of features at the price point we were evaluating. I was on the edge of getting it when it was at 79 one morning, but didn’t. Later that afternoon it was 99, less than the local price, and with no tax and free shipping with white glove delivery and setup, it was hard to beat, so I jumped on it. (As I write this review, it’s 80!)

This TV has a beautiful picture, and the sound is fine (to me) without attaching a surround sound system. I think I’m going with LG products on TV’s and Blu-ray players for the foreseeable future, as the quality appears to excellent. Hopefully, they won’t become like Sony and after many years let everything go to pot. I can’t bring myself to buy anything Sony anymore, with all the products that I’ve had by them more recently that fell apart far too soon.

Just a word about the delivery if bought through Amazon — it was a wonderful experience. I was able to schedule a delivery time range, and when they brought it, they took everything out of the box, set it up, and took all the trash away, so no TV box out for trash pickup advertising to everyone what we got. I would buy a TV from Amazon again in a heartbeat, if I need one.

And after the experience with this LG TV, I think I’m going to need a smaller LG for my bedroom pretty soon.

I would also suggest the LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player or LG BD 390 Network Blu-ray Disc Player for those in the market for a Blu-ray player, especially with Netflix streaming.

LG’S POWER SUPPLY WILL LAST LESS THAN 3 YEARS – Paul S. – Matawan, New Jersey United States
Lg’s are nice until the power supply goes bad, as they always do.See other victims cry about their inferior product on google search.Lg will not help at all,I should start a class action suit.Worse than Toyota, at least Toyota says they care about the consumer.Lg has a smash and grab policy towards the USA.

Love my new TV! – Tracy Casten –
Great picture and sound seems to be comparable to my Samsung TV’s. I have always been partial to Samsung, but went out on a limb to save some money and purchased the LG. I am very pleased with my decision and would purchase again. Well worth the money and great price as compared to the larger stores.

Almost Great HDTV – A. Sheffield – Kaysville, UT
The TV has been great. It has provided great picture quality and I can’t complain about the sound. I have HDTV, DVD, XBOX, and a computer all running to it and all of them work great with it. There is no S-video, but I haven’t used an s-video cable in years so not a problem for me. The options to adjust the picture are great, and it never really gets warm (like some other TV’s tend to do). I have really enjoyed this TV.

The only downside that I have experienced is the audio output (only Optical, not RCA). I wanted to run the red/white audio out to a set of auxiliary speakers, but the speakers don’t have optical input and the TV only has optical output. That is probably my biggest and pretty much only complaint.

No regrets on this one – Noel – SouthTexas
I have had this TV (LG 55LH40) for two months and have no regrets. What persuaded me to buy this was, #1: All the commendable reviews. #2: A reasonable price. Now (01/30/10) I see Amazon has the price at 69.00 with free shipping. A couple hundred less than I paid and that should make it an even sweeter deal. It is unlikely you will find fault with this one. Great picture. Decent sound.

LG 47LG90 47-Inch LED Backlit 1080p 120Hz HDTV, Gloss Piano Black with Blue Review

I’ve owned this TV for a week now. I haven’t experimented with white scrolling text to look for the blooming and I almost don’t want to. After working with multimedia encoding and 3D graphics, I’ve discovered that ignorance is sometimes bliss. Once you notice something, you can’t stop yourself from seeing it all the time (like macro blocks from MPEG compression, motion “judder,”, etc.).

I’ll also agree with other reviewers that you really need to play with the advanced menus in order to tune the picture. “Vivid” and “standard” are nice for cartoons and anime but are too over-the-top for anything else. The auto-adjusting setting is a nice idea but in practice is annoying because it pops up a logo to tell you it is adjusting the picture. I was watching one night and every time I turned a table lamp on or off, the picture would adjust (which would be fine if it didn’t annoy me with an on-screen logo to tell me about it).

This TV is no Samsung (LED). I can definitely tell the difference in the local showroom and the Samsungs are very svelte. But for this price, I don’t think you can find anything comparable. The LED backlighting definitely increases the visible contrast; you’ll see blacks that you just won’t see on a non-LED LCD. I haven’t seen the blooming or LED “popping” that other reviewers have mentioned, but even if I turn off the dynamic lighting, the LED still gives me brighter lighting, less heat and (theoretically) longer life and greater reliability. Plus, I get bragging rights for a while. “Check it out; the very latest in big screen HD tech!”

Speaking of bragging rights, all of my friends have commented about how wonderful this TV display looks, even people who have bought Samsungs and Bravias in the past year. Considering that I bought this TV at a price that was the same as the non-LED Samsungs, I’m quite happy. All the technical negatives noted about this TV are probably spot on, but for the price, I don’t think I could have done nearly as well with any other TV. I bought this TV as sort of a memorial to my brother who died just this past Christmas. He was very into big screen TVs and the latest tech. I think he’d be happy to see his nephew watching Bakugan in HD glory.

Great Picture – Wayne Kuhn – Redlands, CA
I bought this TV because it had an LED back-lit panel. The picture is brilliant, the colors pop out. The view is good from almost any angle. It generates very little heat. It was the best price performance LED LCD we could find. I wasn’t disappointed. As an extra, the delivery man was courteous and helped me place it and test it.

couldn’t be happier – Michael Porter – Beaufort, SC
the quality of this tv is amazing everyone i know that owns an HDTV says that this one is so much better, the difference between 60 & 120Hz is crazy, even watching a 700 mb 90 min AVI movie on this tv still looks awesome which i thought it would be horrible quality on such a big tv. Anyways you might find other TVs for cheaper with the same specs, but take it from someone who used to fix TVs for LG their customer service is so much better than any other company i have seen that on the rare instance something goes wrong they will take good care of you.

short term review – D. Deutsch – chicago usa
Picture definitely with more contrast and brighter than a regular LCD. I had to switch trumotion off because the feature made all movies look like a reality show.

Freaking awesome – J. Melton – Fairborn, OH
This is the first HDTV I’ve ever purchased and I feel good about it. It’s a beautiful picture, right out of the box. It took me about 10 minutes to unpack, another 5 to connect, and another 5 to configure. Out of the box, I have zero complaints about the picture settings. So far, the only thing in the image I dislike is the halo around candles/bulbs in a really dark setting. Other than that, this is a fantastic t.v.! You can view the image from any angle and the tru-motion/local dimming features make for a significantly sharp/contrasted image. Once in a while, you get a guy that has been working on t.v.s his whole life and starts bashing every little non-perfect thing about a t.v., but if you work, eat food, and watch t.v., this LG is for you! Energy Star, 120Hz, LED backlit, VESA 200×200 mounting, anti-reflective screen, super easy menu system, amazing picture….. come on! Buy one now! – Josh – Fairborn, OH – 18 Jul 09

This is a perfect TV for a bedroom. The picture is very nice, and the basic setup includes a little program that searches for HD channels that it pulls right out of the air. The speakers aren’t anything special, which is typically found in most LCD TVs. Picture is definitely great though!

LG 55LH90 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED Backlit LCD HDTV, Glossy Black/Infused Blue Review

First, I did a lot of research about the LCD and LED TV’s, trying to find the best one for me. Without looking at price, it came down to 2 sets, the LG55LH90 and the Samsung UN55B8500. I chose the former because of the picture quality. Boy, am I glad I did! We’re sitting here watching the Winter Olympics and it’s like we’re there! The Food Network even gets my stomach growling.
In addition, I want to cut down on my energy usage which helps the environment and saves me money. However, I want to do it all without sacrificing my lifestyle. LED’s are supposed to use less energy than LCD’s. On the LCD monitors you can feel how much heat it generates, whereas the LG puts off very little heat. With the LG55, the Dish Network, and the sound system all up and running, this whole unit is only drawing 224 watts of electricity…sweet! (I actually measured it with a “Kill-a-Watt meter)

Below are the additional items that I purchased along with their prices and the reasons I purchased them:
LGLH90-Purchased through Amazon – 95.00 Almost bought at Best Buy, but price was higher, and even though they offered to match the price, they still would have charged sales tax.
Mediabridge Ultra Series HDMI Cable through Amazon – .99 Read about the Lip-sync issues and the problems people were having. There were comments about “making sure you get a high quality” cable. I also read where the “Monster Cable” was overhyped. Called Best Buy for their opinion and guess what, they said to be sure to buy the 0.00 Monster Cable…wonder why? So I based my decision on the cable’s certification. It is certified at “Version 1.3 Category 2″ which is the same as the “Monster Cable” at 1/10th the price. It performs perfectly, with no lip-sync problems.
Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar through Amazon – It appears all large screen monitors sound systems are realitively limited to what sound they can produce. This system sounds beautiful to me…it’s like we’re at the movies! What I like about LG TV, is you can turn it off(when you have the Sound Bar on). Also, if you have just the LG sound on(sound bar off), the LG has an option that makes the sound at the same level, from channel to channel, and even commercials. Great feature when someone in another room is trying to sleep. I wish the sound bar had this feature!
SquareTrade 3-year TV Warranty through Amazon – 9.99 At Best Buy they wanted 0.00 for a 4-year warranty. Read all the customer feedback on SquareTrade and it seemed to be a great deal.

Here’s how I hooked it up:
HDMI Cable – From DishNetwork box to LG HDMI inlet.
Sound Bar – Opti-cable from Dishnetwork box to Soundbar

Hope you have as nice of an experience as I had!!!

Best TV on the market – Ed1721 – jacksonville, florida
I’ve had this TV for over 6 months now and it’s fantastic. HDTV looks great and when I put on a blu-ray disk (especially transformers and iron man) the picture is incredible. I have a bright room with lots of windows but that’s no problem for this TV. I haven’t had a single issue with the sound but I have comcast cable and not Time Warner. Seems like the problem others are having with sound sync is more with Time Warner cable than with this TV. I also thought the sound coming from the TV speakers was pretty good quality. You can’t expect much from TV speakers these days and I thought the LG’s were better than my Samsung. However, since then I have a full surround system installed so I don’t use the TV speakers anymore. If you’re looking for the best TV picture in an LCD model you can’t beat this TV. Samsung and Sony can’t seem to produce a full backlit LED TV without chargin ,000+ more than this TV. My only complaint would be that LG should lessen the width of the border. It’s about 4 inches thick and makes the footprint of the TV larger than it needs to be.

Beautiful LED-LCD tv for price range – Bobby J. Truong – Philadelphia, PA
Spectacualer TV for the price in compasion to Samsung. At the time when I had the chance to choose between the Samung 55 inch LED 240 vs. the LG. I opted for the LG which cost 0 less when I happend to be at the super sale. Visually the Samsung was better in design and slimness.

But if you’re on a budget and you want new technology coupled with a small wallet then LG does not disappoint.
I don’t care for the design and look of the LG model but the LED screen is stunning. I watch Blu-Ray films and play HD quality games on the PS3. It is a visual feast.

Rated #1 by Consumer Reports – Paul – Hawaii
I bought this television at Best Buy after doing extensive research. Now, I know why Consumer Reports ranked this tv #1. I watched the NFL playoff games this past weekend on it and was completely blown away with the unbelieveable picture quality. Absolutely stunningly great! Funny thing is I had originally purchased the Samsung LN52B750 (rated #3 by Consumer Reports) because I was scared off from all the problems some people had posted about concerning lip sync problems. But before Best Buy could deliver the Samsung I changed my mind and went with my first choice the LG55LH90 and I am glad I did. I’m sure the Samsung is a good tv as well but the LG55LH90 impressed the heck out of me. I have a bright room and the LED backlighting is great. I also purchased the Init TV Stand ( model NT-C1205 Black) at Best Buy for the online price and it matches the tv great. My advise is to not be scared off by the lip sync problems because if you do you can always return it.
